Rationale: This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public and bids were opened in public and read aloud on October 6, 2017. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

Four bids were received; ranging from $258K to $343K. The work was designed by Sammel Architecture, PLLC.

Lombardo was interviewed and all due diligence was taken to verify that they met the specified experience requirements, were comfortable with the work and their bid. Sammel Architects and the department recommend award of this contract to Lombardo as the confirmed lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

This CONTRACT 3 of 5, HVAC WORK is for the HVAC upgrades and reconstruction for the relocation of the main office. Also it will provide for new HVAC controls to existing heater/ventilation units in each classroom..

Overall, CIP CIP10745 provides for a new roof, repointed and sealed masonry, new exterior doors, new high tech security, relocation of the main office, lighting upgrades, miscellaneous sidewalk & drainage improvements and miscellaneous plaster and paint.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The School Facilities Management, Sammel Architecture and a construction manager (to be determined) will be inspecting the contractor’s work and monitoring the construction schedule through on-site inspections, biweekly progress meetings and record keeping.

CONTRACT DURATION: 365 Calendar Days.

WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on October 6, 2017 in compliance with General Municipal Law for Bid No. 6192 HVAC Work for the “Reconstruction of Portions of the Building Envelope, Interior Finishes and Site Work " Project No. 10745 at the Paideia School 24, and

WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Joseph Lombardo Plumbing and Heating, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $258,446.76

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6192 HVAC Contract 3 of 5, for Project No. 10745 “Reconstruction of Portions of the Building Envelope, Interior Finishes and Site Work” at Paideia School 24 to Joseph Lombardo Plumbing and Heating, 321 Spook Rock Road, Suffern, NY 10909, in an amount not to exceed $258,446.76, for a term of 365 calendar days.
