Rationale: RFP 420-19-19 for the subject project was issued on July 10, 2019 to Fuller & D’Angelo, who is currently working on Gorton High School Phase I and II. Their experience and past track record for work in this school made them the best choice to do this additional work. Fuller & D’Angelo, PC was awarded a requirements contract via Resolution 17.5 at the January 20, 2016 meeting. A response was received from Fuller & D’Angelo, PC on Jul 15, 2019. As result of the examination of the response, it was determined that Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C., Architects (F&D) would be the appropriate firm well suited for this project.

This resolution will assign a fee $158,000.00, including expected reimbursable expenses.

Overall cost of CIP 10656 (Phase III) is estimated at $1.8M. Work is anticipated to take two years and commence in the summer of 2020. Scope of work is to include but necessarily be limited to “Elevator, Interior improvements, Boiler System Upgrades, and Signage”

The services that F&D will provide include but are not limited to: review existing drawings and survey the school infrastructure and to confirm existing conditions, confirm the scope of work and develop a project budget, prepare construction documents and specifications for procurement of a building permit from the NY State Education Department, issuance of construction documents for public bid and provide the District with construction administration services.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services contract to Fuller and D’Angelo Architects and Planners in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and

WHEREAS: architectural and/or engineering services as specified under Contract 617108 are required for CAPITAL 10656 Phase III “Elevator, Interior improvements, Boiler System Upgrades, and Signage” and

WHEREAS: the response by F&D to RFP 420-19-19 issued by the Facilities Department to was deemed to be most advantageous to the District with assignment of select services at a cost not to exceed $158,000.00.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C. Architects and Planners, 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, New York 10523 to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering services for capital project CIP 10656 Phase III “Elevator, Interior improvements, Boiler System Upgrades, and Signage” at Gorton High School RFP 420-19-19 under Requirements Contract 617108 to Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C., Architects in the amount of $158,000.
