Rationale:
|
This is to provide funding to make repairs for additional unforeseen conditions at Yonkers Montessori Academy, School 29, Ceaser Chavez, Siragusa 14, Paideia 15, Vive 10, School 28, Palisades Prep, Boyce Thompson and Gorton High School. Prices were determined using bid labor rates and mark ups.
$96,250.00 was the total amount allocated specifically for chiller repairs in the contract. The repairs on the chillers was exceeded by $75,365.26, bringing the total for the repairs to $171,615.26.
FOCUS POPULATION - Included are all schools in the Yonkers Public School District.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: School Facilities Management Department will evaluate performance of contractor with on-site inspections.

Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: By Resolution 22.17 at their stated meeting of June 19, 2018, the Board of Education approved the recommendation to award the contract for “Repair and Maintenance of Air-Conditioning Sytems” to Best Climate Control Corp in an amount not to exceed $558,362.50 for a term of 365 days, and
WHEREAS: Additonal work is required to meet unforeseen conditions at Yonkers Montessori Academy, School 29, Ceaser Chavez, Siragusa 14, Paideia 15, Vive 10, School 28, Palisades Prep, Boyce Thompson and Gorton High School for an amount not to exceed $75,365.26, and
WHEREAS: this additional work will not effect the contract completion date of June 30, 2019,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order #1 in the amount of $75,365.26 to Best Climate Control Corp., 75 Orville Dr., Bohemia, NY 11716 CONTRACT # 2019-00000125
increasing the contract amount from from $558,362.50 to $633,727.76. Contract term is unchanged and ends June 30, 2019.
