Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 17.13 at their stated meeting on April 20, 2016, the Board of Trustees awarded the above subject assignment to Sammel Architecture, PLLC in the amount of $380,000 under their requirements contract 617161.
Under Resolution 15.2 at their stated meeting on April 22, 2020, the Board of Trustees assigned contract 617161 from Sammel Architecture, PLLC to CPL Architecture & Engineering and extending the contract term for an additional 24 months.
This amendment in the amount of $33,460 is required to pay for additional architectural services for added scope of work requested by the administration to perform additional pre-design hazardous material testing, conduct roof openings for hazardous material testing, perform site borings for the athletic field, and perform required NY State DEC SPDES permit filings, special inspections and permit closeouts.
The total value of the additional AE services totaled in the amount of $48,460 and less the assign additional services fee $15,000.00 a balance amendment of $33,460 is required. Work is substantially complete and the District has beneficial use of this facility.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Trustees authorized the award of Contract 617161, a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services contract to Sammel Architecture, PLLC Architects, P.C. in response to District RFQ 313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.13 at the stated meeting on April 20, 2016, architectural and/or engineering services were assigned under Contract 617161 for the “Roosevelt High School Building Envelope, Interior & Athletic Field Upgrades Project” in the amount of $380,000, and
WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.2 at the stated meeting on April 22, 2020, the Board of Trustees assigned contract 617161 from Sammel Architecture, PLLC to CPL Architecture & Engineering and extending the term for an additional 24 months, and
WHEREAS: an amendment is required to include additional architectural services for PO PO 2017-0007840 for “Roosevelt High School Building Envelope, Interior & Athletic Field Upgrades Project”, in the amount of $33,460, increasing the assigned task from $380,000 to $413,460.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the task to CPL Architecture & Engineering, 50 Front Street, Newburgh, NY 12550, for providing additional professional Architectural/Engineering services for the “Roosevelt High School Building Envelope, Interior & Athletic Field Upgrades Project”, for an additional amount of $33,460, increasing the assigned task from $380,000 to $413,460 under Contract No. 617161, “On-Call Architectural Services” for the School Facilities Management Department”.
