Discovery Education Term: Sept. 2018-June 2019 Amount: $11,200 Scope: Discovery Education will provide four, three-hour professional development sessions for up to 100 teachers (25 teachers per session) to learn about and practice using the key features of the program, including exploring the standards-aligned content and digital features, developing instructional learning platforms, and creating digital classrooms for students to access information inside and outside of the classroom.

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Discovery Education to purchase consulting services to support teacher professional development in a newly purchased K-12 digital system for the 2018-2019 school year. WHEREAS the district administration has designed, in conjunction with Discovery Education, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Discovery Education to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Discovery Education at a cost not to exceed $11,200. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers (the "City") as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City's Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel's Office.
