Rationale:
|
Bids were advertised on or about April 6 and opened and read aloud in public on April 27, 2018. There were six bidders. The first apparent low bidder was at $2,093.00 was determined to be “non-responsive” for submitting an incomplete bid package. The three lowest responsible bids were all within $3,000 of each other. The lowest responsive bid is only $5,160 more than the previous years’ contract. Last years’ contract was awarded for $92,990.00 to Tri-State Folding Partitions Inc. $85,690.00 was expensed, and the contract was closed with a balance of $7,300.00. Tri-State Folding Partitions Inc., has won this contract in the past through competitive bidding and has performed acceptably. This is the annual service contract, with the provision for renewal up to three years by mutual consent and under the same terms and conditions as described for the preventive maintenance and repairs of the bleacher systems, movable partitions, backboard systems, safety checks and repair of damaged and unusable movable and fixed backboards throughout the District.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: in compliance with NYS General Municipal Law 103 bids were duly solicited, opened in public and read aloud on April 27, 2018 for Bid 6261 “Gym Equipment Maintenance” and, WHEREAS: Six bids were received with Tri-State Folding Partitions Inc. having the lowest responsive and responsible bid of $98,150.00, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to enter into a contract for Bid No. 6261 “Maintenance and Repairs of Gym Equipment” to Tri-State Folding Partitions Inc., 608 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Chestnut Ridge, NY, in the amount of $98,150.00 for a term of 365 days.
