Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public and bids were opened in public and read aloud on September 29, 2017. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
A total of 2 bids were received ranging up to $433,500.00 and averaging $326,082.50.The work was designed by Sammel Architecture, PLLC who estimated it to be $232,000.00
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct, and the firm had performed satisfactory for the Yonkers public Schools, Schools Facilities Management is recommending award of this project to Joseph Lombardo Plumbing and Heating, for the amount of $218,665.00
This CONTRACT 4 of 5, PLUMBING WORK includes the plumbing upgrades to select locker and toilet rooms such as altering plumbing fixtures for ADA compliance, installing new floor drains for cleaning and shower room restoration.
Overall, CIP CIP10742 provides for new artificial turf athletic field, rehabilitation of select portions of roofing and masonry, restoration of the auditorium and select locker and toilet rooms as well as related asbestos abatement.
FOCUS POPULATION: The stakeholders of the Roosevelt High School.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The School Facilities Management, Architect Sammel Architecture, PLLC, and Construction Manager (to be determined) will be inspecting the contractor’s work and monitoring the construction schedule through on-site inspections, biweekly progress meetings and record keeping.
CONTRACT DURATION: 365 Calendar Days.

WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on September 29, 2017 in compliance with General Municipal Law for Bid No. 6191 Plumbing Work for the “Building Envelope, Interior & Athletic Field Upgrades" Project No. 10742 at the Roosevelt High School, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Joseph Lombardo Plumbing and Heating, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $218,665.00
