Rationale:
|
This is to award a general construction contract as referenced above as per the attached emergency declaration issued by the Superintendent on December 20, 2019. Bids are not required under an emergency declaration. The level of difficulty with the specified repairs and the full schedule of work precludes this work being done with in-house forces. Peter J. Landi Inc. was selected because of they have an exemplary history with the District with low bid work and past emergency declarations. Under the direction of School Facilities Management Peter J. Landi Inc. was directed to excavate and determine the location of the sanitary pipe leak, make necessary repairs , backfill and restore the site. Peter J. Landi Inc. completed the said work for $17,453.84.

Ladies and Gentlemen; WHEREAS: An Emergency Declaration was issued on December 20, 2019 for the ““Replacement of Sanitary Sewer Service Line” at the School 8, and WHEREAS: Under this emergency declaration the District solicited General Construction work for the prompt repairs to the damaged sanitary pipe, WHEREAS: Peter J. Landi Inc. indicated that they were capable and ready to make such repairs in the shortest time frame, and WHEREAS: the District has a substantial successful history with Peter J. Landi Inc., and WHEREAS: Peter J. Landi Inc. has indicated that the maximum cost to the District of the work that they are directed to perform is not to exceed $17,453.84 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above contract to Peter J. Landi Inc., 13 Bradhurst Avenue, Hawthorne, N.Y 10532, in the amount of $17,453.84.for a term of 180 calendar days.
