Rationale: This amendment will increase their assignment from $536,200.00 to $637,700.

Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI), for an amount not to exceed $1 million.
Via Resolution 22.22 at the June 2017 stated meeting this contract was amended to increase the upset funding limit to $1.5 million and extend the term for another 3 years.

This project has grown from a site study regarding parking to a two phase comprehensive rebuild of the existing building, demolition of the modular buildings, roughly 85 new parking spaces and a new 6 classroom addition under the Smart Schools Bond Act. The latest iteration of the scope has been expanded to now include upgrades and ADA accessibility to select restrooms, provisions for air-conditioning, new PA system, creation of a new science classroom and Hi Tech security. The project budget is now $12 million.

The project has been separated into two phases. Phase 1 includes the rebuilding of the existing building and the parking improvements, roughly $5.5 million. Phase 2 includes the demolition of the modular and the construction of the new 6 classroom addition at roughly $6.5 million. The overall project cost is estimated to be $12 million. Construction is for Phase 1 is targeted for 2019 and Phase 2, 2020.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: under Resolution 22.26 at the stated meeting on June 22, 2017, the Board of Education authorized the Assignment of Professional Architectural/Engineering Services Task for PO 2018-206 “Restoration of Envelope, Security, Site, Parking and 6 Classroom Addition” at School 30 to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc for an amount not to exceed $449,300, and

WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.11 at the stated meeting on November 15, 2017, the Board of Education authorized Amendment No. 1 for the amount of $86,900.00, and

WHEREAS: additional work is required by the district to perform additional design services, inspections and testing for District added scope of work, and

WHEREAS: the response by Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.to the request for the additional work issued by the Facilities Department was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $101,500.00

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the task for PO 2018-206 of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., 400 Rella Boulevard, Suite 207, Montebello, NY 10901 of providing additional professional Architectural/Engineering services for capital project CIP10732 & 10826 “Restoration of Envelope, Security, Site, Parking and 6 Classroom Addition” at School 30, under Requirements Contract 617109 to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., in the amount of $101,500.00 revising the assigned task from $536,200 to $637,700.
