Rationale:
|
This is to award the above referenced contract for work entailed in the attached emergency declaration. A request for quotes was issued to four select vendors, two of which responded: Midlantic Environmental, Inc. at $23,000.00 and ABF Environmental Inc. at $33,750.00. Midlantic was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
The term of the contract shall be 180 calendar days for paperwork processing starting August 17, 2017.
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into a contract with Midlantic Environmental, Inc. the lowest email quotation from a responsible vendor, in the amount $23,000.00 for School 13.
The scope of work included making repairs to localized areas where built up plywood flooring had delaminated and warped. The flooring consisting of VCT, plywood subfloor over vinyl asbestos tile required removal of the sub-floor to performed under asbestos abatement protocols.
FOCUS POPULATION: The stakeholders of the School 13.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The School Facilities Management will be inspecting the contractor’s work and monitoring the construction schedule through on-site inspections. The Architectural/Engineering firm Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. will be performing the environmental project monitoring to ensure compliance with NYS DOL Code 56 and EPA AHERA regarding asbestos abatement.

WHEREAS: An Emergency Declaration was issued on August 11, 2017 for VINYL ASBESTOS FLOOR TILE ABATEMENT at SCHOOL 13, and
WHEREAS: Under this emergency declaration the District, with Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., issued request for quotations to four known vendors, and
WHEREAS: Midlantic Environmental, Inc., was found to be the lowest responsive and responsible proposer with a quote of $23,000.00, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above contract to Midlantic Environmental, Inc., 42 Genesee Street, New Hartford, NY, 13413 in an amount not to exceed $23,000.00 for a term of 180 calendar days.
