Scope – During the 2006-2007 school year the District procured and installed the infrastructure to support a Voice over IP system. This system provides voice services over the District’s network. The system along with the headsets was deployed throughout the District and continues to be used District-wide. Beginning in April of 2012 we performed a major upgrade to the system which replaced hardware and brought all of the unified communications hardware and software to the most recent release levels. Currently, the software and some of our existing hardware has reached the end of its useful life and is no longer supported by Cisco. As a result of this we need to upgrade all software to the most current versions and replace hardware in order to continue a maintenance agreement and retain support. As part of this upgrade, we will be replacing our current call mangers, voice gateways and upgrading all of the licensing and software versions including voicemail. In addition, this system will include a Fax solution which will benefit all schools as well as call accounting and analytics.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the District is seeking to upgrade the existing Voice over IP systems for all District locations, and,
WHEREAS the current system was originally implemented in 2006 and upgraded in 2012, and,
WHEREAS this upgrade will replace existing call mangers, voice gateways and bring all software and licensing to the most current levels. In addition we will be installing a District-wide Fax solution as well as call accounting and analytics which will provide the District with better reporting on phone usage.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Public Schools issue a purchase order to ConvergeOne, NCPA 01-65, in the amount of $292,718.54 for the purchase and installation of the necessary hardware and software.
