Rationale:
|
Bids for RFP6252 were publically advertised, received and opened on April 6, 2018. Four bids were received and reviewed. Bids ranged from the winning bid of $185,000 to $224,000.00.
The apparent highest bidder did not submit a complete bid package. This year’s award is $1,891.54 less than last year’s contract for the same work.
Unitec is new to the District and has passed all vetting and reference checks.
This is the annual service contract, with the provision for renewal by mutual consent and under the same terms and conditions as described for the preventive maintenance and the necessary repairs of all the existing elevators and lifts throughout the district.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with NYS General Municipal Law 103 bids were duly solicited, opened in public and read aloud on April 6, 2018 for Bid 6252 “Maintenance and Repairs of YPS Elevators” and,
WHEREAS: four bids were received with Alliance Elevator DBA Unitec Elevator having the lowest responsive and responsible bid of $185,000.00, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to enter into a contract for Bid No. 6252 “Maintenance and Repairs of YPS Elevators” to Alliance Elevator DBA Unitec Elevator, 97-20 99th Street, Ozone Park NY, 11416 in the amount of $185,000.00 for a term of 365 days.
