Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 17.6 at their stated meeting on March 16, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. (E&R) for an amount not to exceed $1 million. This resolution is to assign the following specific capital work under that contract. E&R was retained to provide the Environmental Consulting and Project Monitoring services for this project which included but was not limited to: asbestos surveys, bid specifications and project monitoring to ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable Federal and State codes rules and regulations. Procurement for services under an emergency declaration Declaration (attached) Request for Proposals were not solicited. E&R was selected because they are experienced working in the school, are knowledgeable the schools asbestos containing building materials and responsive and preparing bids.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.6 at the stated meeting on March 16, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Environmental Consulting Services contract to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., in response to District RFQ317 “Environmental Consulting Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for the capital project EMERGENCY DECLARATION for the VINYL ASBESTOS TILE ABATEMENT at SCHOOL 13, WHEREAS: Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., submitted a proposal that was reasonable and to the benefit of the District under and emergency declaration at a cost not to exceed $7,850.00, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., 291 Genesee Street, Utica NY, 13501 the task of providing Environmental Consulting and Project Monitoring services for CIP10820 Emergency Declaration "EMERGENCY VINYL ASBESTOS TILE ABATEMENT" at SCHOOL 13, under Contract 619182 in the amount of $7,850.00. Term shall be 180 calendar days.
