Rationale:
|
This is to the subject contract per the attached emergency declaration issued by the Superintendent on July 29, 2019. Bids are not required under an emergency declaration.
Midlantic Environmental, Inc. was selected by the Facilities Department because of their more than satisfactory history with the District. Their work is to provide all labor and materials to environmental abatement, clean up and restoration of AC wall board in the school’s library. This work became necessary after a severe cold period during which time several of the heating units in the affected room failed. This resulted in freezing temperatures which in turn froze and cracked the sprinkler system piping.

Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: An Emergency Declaration was issued on July 29, 2019 for “Abatement and Repair of Damaged AC Wall Board in the Library” at School 9; and
WHEREAS: Under this emergency declaration the District solicited general construction work for the prompt environmental abatement, clean up and restoration of AC wall board in the school’s library; and
WHEREAS: Midlantic Environmental, Inc. indicated that they were capable and ready to perform the abatement, cleanup and restoration in the shortest time frame, certifying that they would work around the school’s operations and schedule, and
WHEREAS: the District has a substantial successful history with Midlantic Environmental, Inc.; and
WHEREAS: Midlantic Environmental, Inc. has indicated that the maximum cost to the District of the work that they are being directed to perform is not to exceed $47,924.00,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above contract to Midlantic Environmental, Inc., 42 Genesee Street, New Hartford, NY, 13413 in the amount of $47,924.00 for a term of 183 calendar days.
