3 Proposal PS 24 Project masonry panels 2020-1-29.pdf
Rationale: Via Resolution 17.7 at their stated meeting on March 16, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded requirements contract to Savin Engineers, P.C. (Savin) for an amount not to exceed $1.0 million and under Resolution 22.31 at their stated meeting on June 19, 2018 contract 618507 was increase by $1.0 million and extended contract for an additional 12 months and under Resolution 18.6 at their stated meeting on November 20, 2018 the contract was increased for an additional $1.0 million and extended the contract for an additional 12 months and under Resolution 18.5 at their stated meeting on December 18, 2019 the contract 618507 was increased by $1.0 million to an upper limit of $4.0 million and extended contract for an additional 12 months.
This resolution is to amend assignment CIP 10745 “Masonry Parapet Restoration” at the Paideia School 24 to Savin under the same requirements contract, No. 618507 to increase in the amount not to exceed of $6,620 and extend their time by 274 days.
This increase is needed to cover extended time needed to replace the decorative terra cotta cornice with a glass-fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) that wraps around the building, along the exterior base of the parapet wall. Delays were caused by the approval and procurement of the GFRC material and additional water-proofing that was identified as needed before the cornice is installed. This work was scheduled for the summer/fall of 2019 however, will extend to summer of 2020 and the additional construction management services is estimated to be in the amount of $10,620 minus the use of their allowance of $4,000 is a net increase of $6,620 needed.
