Rationale: J. C. Broderick will be providing the environmental monitoring, sample testing and oversight of the asbestos abatement work required for the replacement of the gymnasiums roof, flooring, bleachers, and gym equipment; replace of select exterior doors and interior corridor smoke control doors.

Considering the workload of other Environmental Consulting firms, RFP420-19-07 was issued to only JC Broderick.

Via Resolution 17.6 at their stated meeting on March 16, 2016, the Board of Trustees awarded requirements contract 618534 to J.C. Broderick via RFQ317 for “Environmental Consulting Services for the Facilities Management Department”. The term of service was for 24 months with extension for another 12 months by mutual consent. The 12 month extension was authorized via Res 22.27 at the June 19, 2018 Board meeting extending the contract to April 30, 2019.

Another 24-month extension is being authorized by a separate resolution.

FOCUS POPULATION: The stakeholders of the Saunders Trade and Technical High School
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: School Facilities Management will be inspecting the contractor’s work and monitoring the construction schedule through on-site inspections, daily progress meetings and record keeping.
PERSON ADMINISTERING CONTRACT: John P. Carr, P.E., Executive Director of School Facilities Management Department.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.6 at the stated meeting on March 16, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, Environmental Consulting Services Contract No. 618534 to J.C. Broderick & Associates, Inc. in response to District RFQ317 “Environmental Consulting Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and
WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for the capital project CIP10819 “ Improvements to the Gymnasium Complex, Roof, Exterior Door Replacement and Security Upgrades” at Saunders Trade and Technical High School, and
WHEREAS: the response by J C Broderick to a request for a proposal issued by the Facilities Department deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $35,000.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint J. C. Broderick and Associates, Inc. 1775 Expressway Drive North, Happauge, NY 11786 to the task of providing professional Environmental Consulting Services for CIP10819 “Improvements to the Gymnasium Complex, Roof, Exterior Door Replacement and Security Upgrades” at Saunders Trade and Technical High School, under Contract No. 618534 in an amount not to exceed $35,000.00. Term is for 365 calendar days.
