Resolution:
|
WHEREAS the YONKERS PUBLIC SCHOOLS (“District”) provides life insurance to District employees; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to enter into a contract with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (“Metlife”) for the 2018-2019 school year; and
WHEREAS the administration recommended we renew the contract with MetLife for Board approval; and
WHEREAS MetLife was paid $25,554.95 last fiscal year for such services.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract with Metlife for the 2018-2019 school year at an annual cost not to exceed $29,000. Life Insurance cost for Employees: - $0.197 per $1,000 of Life Insurance in force hereunder. Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance for Employees: - $0.013 per $1,000 of the Full Amount of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance for Employees.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
