Rationale:
|
This is to award a mechanical construction contract as referenced above as per the attached emergency declaration issued by the Superintendent on February 26, 2019. Bids are not required under an emergency declaration.
Best Climate Control Corp. was selected by the School Facilities Management Department (SFM) because they have a standing service contract and satisfactory history with the District. Services provided include upgrades the AC equipment mounting, refrigerant piping and commissioning.
This damage to the AC unit was due to the high winds that lifted a portion of the roof as per the attached Emergency Declaration.

Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: An Emergency Declaration was issued on February 26, 2019 for the “Roof Wind Damage Repairs” at the Roosevelt High School and
WHEREAS: Under this emergency declaration the District solicited HVAC construction work for the prompt repairs to the roof top AC Unit, and
WHEREAS: Best Climate Control Corp. indicated that they were capable and ready to make such repairs in the shortest time frame, and
WHEREAS: the District has a substantial successful history with Best Climate Control Corp., and
WHEREAS: Best Climate Control Corp. has indicated that the maximum cost to the District of the work that they are directed to perform is not to exceed $7,668.71,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above contract to Best Climate Control Corp., 75 Orville Dr., Bohemia, NY 11716, 1689 Route 22, Brewster, NY 10509 in the amount of $7,668.71 for a term of 183 calendar days.
