Rationale: International Institute for Restorative Practices
Term: 2017-18 Academic Year
Amount: $11,245
Scope: The International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP) will conduct a three-day “Training of Trainers” (TOT) to teach experienced practitioners how to facilitate the “Introduction to Restorative Practices” and “Using Circles Effectively” professional development days. Once trained, participants will be licensed trainers who will be able to turnkey and implement restorative practices in their setting.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with the International Institute for Restorative Practices to purchase consulting services to support professional development with a three-day “Training of Trainers” for the 2017-2018 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with the International Institute for Restorative Practices, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by the International Institute for Restorative Practices, and,

WHEREAS the District has evaluated past services from the vendor and has determined that the International Institute for Restorative Practices has performed in a satisfactory manner, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with the International Institute for Restorative Practices at a cost not to exceed $11,245.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
