Rationale:
|
The State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2017-18 Enacted Budget (A3000-D/S2000-D, Chapter 50) includes a reappropriation for additional grants in aid for certain school districts, public libraries, and not-for-profit institutions (page 843, lines 27-33). This reappropriation will provide a total of $1,500,000 to the Yonkers City School District. The Legislature’s intent is to process these funds through the State Education Department for this school district for the 2017-18 School Year
Therefore, on August 8, 2017, the Yonkers City Council approved Special Ordinance 35-2017, which amends the City of Yonkers Board of Education Budget by increasing both State Funding for Education Revenues and Basic Operating Expenditures by $1,500,000, respectively. |
