Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to LiRo Engineers, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $1 million. This resolution is to assign the subject task under that contract.
Via Resolution 20.3 at their stated meeting on April 18, 2018 the Board of Trustees awarded environmental monitoring to LiRo Engineers for three capital projects completed over the summer of 2018: CIP 10742 Roosevelt H.S. for $23,312.50
CIP 10745 School 24 for $17,484.00 and CIP 10746 School 25 for $14,430.00
This assignment is to provide for the added environmental monitoring services required at School 24 in the amount of $6,143.10 and at School 25 for $18,217.30.
These increases were due to changed scheduling cause by DASNY funding delays, unforeseen changes in scope and to LiRO underestimating the monitoring time required in their original proposal.
In response to the RFP LiRo Engineers, Inc. originally estimated 54 shifts for all 3 projects. The actual required work shifts to compete the abatement work totaled 78 work shifts.
With the increase, LiRo’s total fee for this project is increased to $79,586.90 which is still far below the next lowest proposer, E&R Engineering with an original proposal of $117,680.00.
This is being presented as a new assignment for procurement processing although it is amending a previous assigned task. |

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.6 at the stated meeting on March 16, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, Environmental Consulting Services contract to LiRo Engineers, Inc. in response to District RFQ317 for the School Facilities Management Department for an amount not to exceed $1 million, amended on June 19, 2018 extending the contract for an additional 365 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: additional work as defined under that contract is required for capital projects 10745 & 10746, and
WHEREAS: LiRo Engineers fee to perform this added work is acceptable at an amount not to exceed $24,360.40
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign LiRo Engineers, Inc., Three Aeriel Way, Syosset, NY 11791, to the task of providing Environmental Monitoring for the capital projects 10745 & 10746 for an the fee not to exceed $24,360.40 under Contract No. 618430 for Professional Environmental Monitoring Services. |
