Amount: $27,000.00

Scope: To allow eligible Roosevelt High School- Early College study students the opportunity to earn college credit for college level courses taught at their high school. The intent is to enable these students to start their college career while still in high school. The courses are college level are accepted as direct transfer credit at Mercy University and at many other colleges and universities. Not only will this course work provide students with valuable preparation for college level work, it will also save them time and money towards their college degree, in addition to preparing them for successful completion of any associated regents exams.

Resolution
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Mercy University to purchase consulting services to support eligible Roosevelt High School- Early College study students the opportunity to earn college credit for college level courses taught at their high school. The intent is to enable these students to start their college career while still in high school. The courses are college level are accepted as direct transfer credit at Mercy University and at many other colleges and universities. Not only will this course work provide students with valuable preparation for college level work, it will also save them time and money towards their college degree, in addition to preparing them for successful completion of any associated regents exams for the 2023-2024 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Mercy University program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Mercy University to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Mercy University at a cost not to exceed $27,000.00.
