Rationale:
Bids for RFB 6344 were publically advertised, received and opened on February 1, 2019. Only two bids were received and reviewed. This year’s award is $30,575.00 less than last year’s contract due to a reduction in estimated amount of repair work that will be required.

Total Lighting Service, LLC., has won this contract in the past through competitive bidding and has performed acceptably. Last year’s contract was awarded for $84,622.00 out of which $75,913.54 was expensed. Contract expired on December 31, 2018.

This service contract is renewable by mutual consent and under the same terms and conditions for an additional 2 more years. This work is required as the District has to operate and maintain lighting for emergency purposes in all of its buildings, and the optimum means of achieving this outcome is through the engagement of a specialty outside vendor.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with NYS General Municipal Law 103 bids were duly solicited, opened in public and read aloud on February 1,2019 for Bid 6344 and,

WHEREAS: Two bids were received with Total Lighting Service, LLC.,being the lowest responsive and responsible bid of $54,047.00, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to enter into a contract for Bid No. 6344 “ MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF EMERGENCY & EXIT LIGHTS”, to Total Lighting Service, LLC., 250-49 Porter St., Watertown, CT 06795, in the amount of $54,047.00 for a term of 365 days.
