Rationale:
|
This is to upgrade and correct issues that have developed in the roofing that has been contributing to ceiling damage over the center vestibule at Saunders High School.
Due to the size, need for speed and the fact that Watsky is the roof designer used by all five A/E’s on contract with the District it was determined that an RFP was not desirable. There is the cost savings of eliminating the middle man as well.
Watsky Associates, Inc. will be required to produce the design plans, specifications, estimates, bid documents, bidding and construction support services.
The overall project cost is anticipated to be $20,000.00. A more precise scope and construction cost estimate will be defined under the Schematic Design portion of this design work.
Construction is anticipated to commence in the early spring of 2018 and be completed by summer 2018. This task order is to end by January 2019.
FOCUS POPULATION: The stakeholders of Saunders High School.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The School Facilities Management Department will be working closely with Watsky Associates to monitor progress and content.
PERSON ADMINISTERING CONTRACT: John P. Carr, P.E., Executive Director of School Facilities Management Department.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: this Project will be Authorized by the Board of Education under a separate Resolution on January 17, 2018; and
WHEREAS: having been contracted by the Board via their response to a request for proposal; and;
WHEREAS: Watsky Associates, Inc. has successfully completed several projects in the Yonkers Public Schools; and
WHEREAS: in response to a request from the Administration, Watsky Associates, Inc. will provide the Architectural/Engineering Design Services for the “Replacement of the roof over the center vestibule at Saunders High School ” in the amount not to exceed $7,900.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to AWARD a contract for Professional Architectural/Engineering Design Services for the “Replacement of the roof over the center vestibule at Saunders High School” Project, with Watsky Associates, Inc., 20 Madison Avenue, Valhalla, NY, 10595.
