Performance Based Contract for PNW Social Studies Curriculum.docx
Rationale: Agreement with Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES to provide a blended Social Studies/English Language Arts curriculum for 35 schools in the YPS district that have K-8 classrooms for the 2017-2018 school year. PNW BOCES will provide the digital curriculum, which includes standards-based, inquiry Social Studies units (aligned to the NYS Social Studies Framework, CCLS, C3). The units, lessons, and activities are reproducible. The units provide inquiry-based learning activities for students, graphic organizers, vocabulary development activities, lesson plans, and short video clips. Rubrics and assessments are included. The lessons, activities, and videos are in English and Spanish and are also customizable. As part of the contract, PNW Boces personnel will provide professional development training for 36 teachers on using the different features of this program. The cost for Yonkers Public Schools for this school year, beginning in November 2017 through June 2018, is $17,528.40.

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with PNW BOCES to provide these services, and
