Rationale:
|
Bids were advertised on April 6 and opened and read aloud in public on April 25, 2018.
There were 3 bidders. Second low bidder at $72,750 and the high bidder at $411,125.00.
Last years’ contract was awarded for $55,750 (which was $550 more than this year) to Playground Medic. Only $35,230 was expended on the Playground Medic contract. Though the mechanism was available to do so, this work was not optioned for renewal and let for bid.
This contract has a term of one year, renewable under the same terms and conditions by the mutual consent of both parties for up to two additional years
The school district currently has 36 playgrounds in various conditions at 26 different schools. It is necessary that they be inspected, serviced and/or repaired in a timely and professional manner. This contract will provide the necessary service of these playgrounds to help ensure that they are safe for our children to use. The scope of work will include but is not limited to annual inspections & reporting, maintenance and District directed repairs.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with NYS General Municipal Law 103 bids were duly solicited, opened in public and read aloud on April 25, 2018 for Bid 6278 “Repair and Maintenance of Playgrounds”, and
WHEREAS: three bids were received and examined and all due diligence taken to determine the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and
WHEREAS: such findings indicate that Pettinelli Recreation Inc. with a bid of $55,200.00 meets this requirement.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the award for Bid 6278 “Repair and Maintenance of Playgrounds” be awarded to Pettinelli Recreation Inc. 199 Blessing Road, Slingerlands NY, 12159 in the amount not to exceed $55,200.00 for the term of 365 calendar days.
