Scope: The District is mandated to administer New York State tests in New York State English as a Second Language Tests (NYSESLAT;Grades K-12) and Science(Grades 4). Data for these examinations is collected through 15 scanable answer documents produced by Scantron. Scantron is the sole source contractor as it guarantees accuracy in scanning using the District-purchased Insight70 scanner and meets state timelines and specifications for each of the tests.
Funding: 450-5231-0000000-2060-B2300-Contractual Funds
Resolution: WHEREAS the District has established the capability to scan optical mark answer documents (bubble sheets) used for data collection of the NYSESLAT and Science state mandated tests, and,
WHEREAS the scanning makes possible in-District scoring and reporting and,
WHEREAS the New York State requires the District to participate as a Scanning Center in the New York Testing Programs and submit data files of test results, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to maintain in-District scanning and scoring capability and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to purchase printed answer documents from Scantron and,
WHEREAS the District has evaluated past services from the vendor and has determined that Scantron has performed in a satisfactory manner;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to approve the agreement with Scantron at a total cost not to exceed $14,424.20
