Rationale: As of January 1, 2020 CPL Architects & Engineers has acquired Sammel Architects. Sammel has several on-going A/E projects which will be completed by CPL. This is to be done at all original terms and conditions of the said contract.

Coincidently, CPL is one of 8 successful design firms being recommended for on-call A/E services under a separate resolution at this meeting.
Funding: FUNDING: CAPITAL BOND FUNDS TO BE ASSIGNED ON A PROJECT BY PROJECT BASIS UNDER SEPARATE RESOLUTIONS.
Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/ Engineering services contract to Sammel Architecture PLLC in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million for 24 months, and

WHEREAS: under Resolution 16.4 at the stated meeting on September 19, 2017 the Board of Education authorized the first amendment to Contract 617161 to increase the original agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00 and extend the term by 24 months, and

WHEREAS: under Resolution 18.2 at the stated meeting on February 27, 2019 the Board of Education authorized the second amendment to Contract 617161 to increase the agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $2,000,000.00 with no change in duration, and

WHEREAS under the terms of said contract, several capital improvement assignments are still in progress and require an additional 24 months to complete to construction administration and closeout, and,

WHEREAS by letter dated January 10, 2020, CPL acquired Sammel on or about December 31, 2019 and requested approval from Yonkers Public Schools to assign and transfer CONTRACT #617161 to CPL.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Board of Schools hereby approves the Assignment of Contract #617161 from Sammel to CPL, and the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to continue the agreement with CPL extending the term by 24 months to complete open agreements.
