Rationale: Bids for this contract were opened on November 14 2017. There were four bidders total. Luzon was the lowest at $121,007.85. The subject contract provides a means for two annual extensions of the contract under mutual consent of the parties under the same terms and conditions in the original bid. This will be the second and final extension, this work will be let for bid in the summer of 2019.

This resolution is to authorize the Superintendent of Schools to extend the subject contract for one year

This contract is to continue to provide annual testing and maintenance of the fuel oil storage tanks throughout the District in compliance with NYS Law and as mandated by the Westchester County Dept. of Health.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS in compliance with General Municipal Law for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fuel Oil Tanks and Protection Systems in Yonkers Public Schools, and

WHEREAS Board Item 17.4, dated December 21, 2016, was approved awarding said contract to Luzon Environmental Services in the amount of $121,007.85

WHEREAS bid specifications provide for annual extensions by the mutual consent of both parties, under the same terms and conditions of the original contract, for up to two additional years, and

WHEREAS the administration recommends the 2nd and final extension of this contract from December 22, 2018 to December 21, 2019 at the same cost of $121,007.85.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the ANNUAL SERVICE CONTRACT No. 2017-00000322 for “Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fuel Oil Tanks” be extended for one year under the same terms and conditions with Luzon Oil Co., dba Luzon Environmental Services, 1246 Glen Wild Road, P.O. Box 10701, Woodridge, N.Y. 12789 for a cost of Total Cost: $121,007.85 for a term of 365 calendar days.
