Rationale: This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. Request for quotation was publicly advertised and bids were opened on January 29, 2020. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

A total of 6 bids were received, with the highest bidder having a bid of $ 57,400 and average bid of $ 22,499.00. The work was designed by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C

After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct, Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C and Schools Facilities Management are recommending the award of the subject contract to Lough Allen Masonry Inc.

The scope of work includes installing structural steel plates and columns to provide temporary shoring to deteriorated masonry support columns located in the storage area below the exterior parking lot. The deteriorated columns are scheduled to be permanently repaired during the summer of 2021 under CIP 10875.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: RFQ was issued for public advertisement and opened on January 29, 2020 in compliance with General Municipal Law for RFQ 2020-4601 “Column Restoration work”

WHEREAS such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Lough Allen Masonry Inc, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $ 9,992.00.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award contract for RFQ 2020-4601 “Column Restoration Work” at Martin Luther King Jr Academy to Lough Allen Masonry Inc, 73 Woodlawn Ave, Yonkers, NY,10704 for an amount not to exceed $9,992.00 for a term of 180 calendar days.
