Scope - The Lightspeed Mobile Device Manager (MDM) provides the District with the ability to remotely manage mobile devices, namely iPads. It provides a single point of management and allows us to manage down to the school level. The MDM, also provides us with the ability to “push” apps out to the iPads as well as retrieve them from the device and move to another device. These devices also need to have a specific security certificate installed in order for them to communicate with our content filtering system. The MDM is the means by which we are able to distribute and install the certificate onto those devices. This resolution is for the renewal of the District’s subscription for the 2018-2019 school year, at a total cost of $12,180.00.

WHEREAS the District is in need of renewing our software subscription for the Yonkers Public Schools’ Mobile Device Management, which is set to expire on July 31, 2018, and,
WHEREAS the Lightspeed Mobile Device Manager will continue to provide the District with the ability to manage IOS devices, specifically iPads, and maintain CIPA compliance on those devices, and,
WHEREAS the MDM allows us to distribute apps to the iPads and provide the flexibility to install and retrieve apps from devices as needed. Additionally, we are able to distribute the security certificate needed for the iPads to communicate with our content filtering system which prevents access to inappropriate web content.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Public Schools issue a purchase order to Software House International (SHI) NY State Contract PD67647, in the amount of $12,180.00 to renew the Mobile Device Management licensing for the 2018-2019 school year.
