Rationale: Family Service Society of Yonkers-JCY
Term: January 2020 – August 2020
Amount: $40,000.00
Scope: Family Service Society of Yonkers, Westchester Community Partners (JCY-WCP), a division of Family Service Society of Yonkers is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of children in Westchester County through a variety of community-based literacy programs that help at-risk students and children. The main purpose of the Afterschool Program is to provide academic support including homework help after school hours and successfully implement the Virtual Enterprise Curriculum at the selected school in the Yonkers Public School District. Working with the Principal and teachers at the school, JCY-WCP will provide expertise and assistance in implementing the curriculum. The Virtual Enterprise VE) Curriculum includes programs designed to bring practical career .experience to middle and high school students.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Family Service Society of Yonkers-JCY to purchase consulting services to support Empire 2 After School Program for the 2019-2020 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Family Service Society of Yonkers a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Family Service Society of Yonkers to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Family Service Society of Yonkers at a cost not to exceed $40, 000.00.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
