Scope: To provide life skills training to students at Roosevelt High School - Early College Studies (RHS-ECS) and professional development training for staff. The student presentations and activities foster social emotional learning and equip them with the tools necessary to develop a growth mindset. The presentations heighten expectations, promote positive thought and behavior patterns, lead to the acquisition of success habits that impact students’ academic achievement, enhance postsecondary preparation, and encourage long-term success. Heywood & Company Motivations will conduct 16 workshops for students (twice/month for 8 months: October to May). Heywood & Company Motivations will conduct 16 workshops for staff (twice/month for 10 months: November to June)
This resolution is needed to amend the district’s contract with Heywood & Company Motivations, LLC to include the provision of professional services to Roosevelt High School

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend a contract with Heywood and Company Motivations to purchase consulting services to support Roosevelt High School by conducting 16 workshops for students (twice/month for 8 months: October to May). Heywood & Company Motivations will also conduct 16 workshops for staff (twice/month for 10 months: November to June for the 2017-2018 school year,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Heywood and Company Motivations a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend an agreement with Heywood and Company Motivations to provide these services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend an agreement with Heywood and Company Motivations at a cost not to exceed $56,000.00.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
