Rationale:
|
This is to extend the current contract with Stanley Convergent (Sonitrol) for another calendar year. Last year’s contract was $130,556.00. The increase of $9,180 includes the added expense imposed by Stanley for the monitoring of the 17 new IPG8M-4G fire alarm communicators (radio and cell phone) which replaced the problematic copper wired communicators.
This contract is spent out in full every year.
Scope of work also includes the troubleshooting and repair/replacement of system components. The Sonitrol System is unique and already installed throughout the District.
All repair work and or upgrades are done by Stanley Convergent at the direction of the District. They are now required to provide non-proprietary equipment on their system which is currently accessible solely by Stanley. Therefore, this is technically a sole source purchase.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS; Board Report No. 18.8 was approved by the Board of Trustees at their stated meeting on July 19, 2017 authorizing the Yonkers Public Schools to enter into a one year contract with Sonitrol Corporation for Security and Fire Alarm Monitoring of all Yonkers Public Schools and facilities terminating on June 30, 2018, and
WHEREAS: this contract is renewable under the same terms and conditions, and
WHEREAS; Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc., is the sole provider for these services for the installed system, and
WHEREAS; it is the desire of the Yonkers Public Schools to continue said monitoring contract and repair services as needed for a period of one year and ending June 30, 2019, and
WHEREAS it is the desire of the Yonkers Public Schools to continue said monitoring contract and repair services from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the contract between the Yonkers Public Schools and Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc. for Security and Fire Alarm Monitoring and Repair Contract 2017-00000335 services be extended for one year at a total cost of $139,736.00 to Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc. 1981 Marcus Ave., Suite C108 New Hyde Park, N.Y. 11042.
