Rationale:
|
The stage curtains at ML KING School are tattered and not working properly. This is to remove and replace them with new. In compliance with General Municipal Law 104b this works was let for quotations received on January 24, 2018. There were two quotes which were were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The only other was from Safar Construction for $25,440.00. Young Equipment Sales, Inc. was interviewed and all due diligence was taken to verify that they met the specified experience requirements, were comfortable with the work and their quote. After interviewing YES and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct and reviewing their acceptable past performance the administration is recommending award of this contract.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: The District has determined that the existing stage curtains needs replacement to provide fire code compliant, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment, and WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on January 24, 2018 in compliance with General Municipal Law for RFQ 2018-4355 to “Provide and Install New Stage Curtains at Martin Luther King, Junior Academy” WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Young Equipment Sales Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $18,897.71 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Bid No. RFQ 2018-4355 “Provide and Install New Stage Curtains at Martin Luther King, Junior Academy” is awarded to Young Equipment Sales Inc. 325 Rabro Drive, Suite 1, Hauppauge NY 11788 in the amount of $18,897.71, for the term of 180 days.
