Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public and bids were opened in public and read aloud on November 25, 2019. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
A total of 7 bid was received, with the highest bidder having a bid of $1,738,000.00 and average bid of $1,436,825.70. The work was designed by Fuller and D’ Angelo P.C. who estimated the work be $1,540,000.00
After interviewing the sole responsive bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, their bid was found to be correct, and the firm had performed satisfactorily for the Yonkers public Schools. Schools Facilities Management is recommending award of this project to PB Contracting Corp for $1,228,630.
This CONTRACT 2 of 6, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION WINDOW work includes the replacement of school’s exterior windows, window shades and requisite asbestos & PCB abatement.
Overall, CIP CIP10825 scope of work includes but is not limited to: replacement of exterior window & shades, new high tech security system, site improvements, select interior restoration and requisite asbestos & PCB abatement.
FOCUS POPULATION: The stakeholders of the School 17.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The School Facilities Management, Fuller and D’ Angelo P.C. and Construction Manager Savin Engineers, P.C. will be inspecting the contractor’s work and monitoring the construction schedule through on-site inspections, biweekly progress meetings and record keeping.

WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that PB Contracting Corp, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $ 1,228,630.00
