Rationale:
|
Bids for RFP 6279 were publically advertised, received and opened on April 25, 2018. One bid was received and reviewed. This year’s award is only $30,729.00 less than last year’s contract. Due to a reduction in estimated amount of repair work that will be required on these systems. Hudson Valley Fire Protection, Inc., has won this contract in the past through competitive bidding and has performed acceptably. Last year’s contract was awarded for $87,904.00.The Purchase Order was later reduced by $35,000.00 (requested by the COY Budget Office) bringing the actual contract value to $53,300.00, out of which $38,859.39 was expensed as of May 1, 2018. Contract expires on June 30, 2018. This is the annual service contract, with the provision for renewal upto three years by mutual consent under the same terms and conditions. This work is required to comply with the fire code requirements that all kitchen hoods and fire suppression systems are inspected, tested and certified operational for use throughout the District.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: in compliance with NYS General Municipal Law 103 bids were duly solicited, opened in public and read aloud on April 25, 2018 for Bid 6279 and, WHEREAS: One bid was received with Hudson Valley Fire Protection, Inc., being the lowest responsive and responsible bid of $57,175.00, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to enter into a contract for Bid No. 6279 “Maintenance and Repair of Fire Suppression Systems” to Hudson Valley Fire Protection, Inc., 136 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY 10566 in the amount of $57,175.00 for a term of 365 days.
