Rationale: By Resolution 17.22 dated May 19, 2021 the Trustees of the Board of Education authorized the award of Contract 2021-0792 for CIP 10888 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School to Northbrook Contracting Corp. for $2,213,000.00 and for a term of 365 days.

This is to authorize the award of Change Order 1 in the amount of $190,981.37 increasing the contract to $2,403,981.37 and the term to 730 calendar days for paperwork purposes.

This change order is for field conditions and owner directed additional work performed at negotiated lump sum prices.

Eight change order proposals were requested of the contractor by the District for additional work, most of which was due to changed, deteriorated or unforeseen conditions. This includes but is not limited to the installation of vandal and erosion proof heavy stone rip rap under bleachers, replacement of the deteriorated light poles, rerouting discovered drainage piping, extension of concrete footings to accommodate change in bleacher alignment, and owner directed site improvements to eliminate tripping and other hazards north end of the school building.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: By Resolution 17.22 dated May 19, 2021 the Trustees of the Board of Education authorized the award of Contract 2021-0792 for CIP 10888 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School to Northbrook Contracting Corp. for $2,213,000.00 and for a term of 365 days.

WHEREAS: in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional work was required including but not limited to the installation of vandal and erosion proof heavy stone rip rap under bleachers, replacement of the deteriorated light poles, rerouting discovered drainage piping, extension of concrete footings to accommodate change in bleacher alignment, and owner directed site improvements to eliminate tripping and other hazards north end of the school building, and

WHEREAS: the fee for this work is at the negotiated lump sum price of $190,981.37.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 to Contract 2021-0792, “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School to Northbrook Contracting Corp., 7 Corporate Drive, Peekskill, NY 10566 for $190,981.37 increasing the contract from $2,213,000.00 to $2,403,981.37 and the term to 730 calendar days.
