Rationale: Westchester Jewish Community Services
Term: January, 2018 – August 31, 2018
Amount: $20,131.53
Scope: Agreement to amend existing contract with Westchester Jewish Community Services to provide additional consulting services to Palisade Preparatory School during the 2017-18 school year. The purpose of the services provided by WJCS will be to promote the social and emotional wellness of students and promote the overall resilience of students participating in the afterschool programming offered through the Empire State grant. This is an amendment to the existing contract of $146,902 approved by the Board on 11/15/17 and BOCS approved on 11/16/17. This amendment represents an increase of $20,131.53 due an increase of schools and services being provided. The total contract amount will be $167,033.53.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend its existing contract with Westchester Jewish Community Services to purchase additional consulting services to promote the social and emotional wellness of students and promote the overall resilience of Palisade Preparatory School students participating in the afterschool programming offered through the Empire State grant for the 2017-2018 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Westchester Jewish Community Services, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by Westchester Jewish Community Services, and,

WHEREAS the District has evaluated past services from the vendor and has determined that Westchester Jewish Community Services has performed in a satisfactory manner, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Jewish Community Services at a cost not to exceed $20,131.53.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
