Rationale:
|
Award of CIP 10943 “Installation of Playground Equipment & Safety Surfacing” at Robert C. Dodson School to Kompan Inc. for $249,909.63 and a term of 365 calendar days. This will replace an old playground that is no longer usable.
Funding of $250,000 is provided under NYS SAM Grant 24821 from the New York State Economic Development Assistance Program (NYS EDAP). This was provided though the Offices of State Senator Shelley Mayer.
Procurement is through a piggyback onto the OMNIA Partners; formerly know as, U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance, #2017001135. Kompan Inc. continues to build playgrounds for the City of Yonkers Parks and Recreation Department, having completed the Lt. Roy McLaughlin Park playground and replaced the playground at Richter Field. Kompan has successfully completed the playground installation at Family School 32, Enrico Fermi School, Cross Hill Academy, Casimir Pulaski School, Museum School 25 and PEARLS Hawthorne School.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: The playground at the Robert C. Dodson School is no longer serviceable or usable requiring its replacement, and
WHEREAS: funding in the amount of $250,000 has be secured through NYS State and Municipal Grant 24821 for this purpose, and
WHEREAS: in accordance with General Municipal Law, the administration has engaged Kompan Inc., though the OMNIA Partners Contract for installation of playground equipment and safety surfacing at a cost of $249,909.63.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to award a contract for CIP 10943 “Installation of Playground Equipment & Safety Surfacing” at Robert C. Dodson School to Kompan Inc., 605 W Howard Ln #101, Austin, TX 78753 for $249,909.63 for a term of 365 calendar days.
