Scope: To award the procurement of three Karcher 27” Propane Floor Burnishers, Item No. BDP69/1800, to Ocean Janitorial Supply, Inc in the amount of $19,152.00 for a term of 365 calendar days. These machines are to replace older machines that are beyond their useful lives.
RFQ 2025-00002334 was opened on September 19, 2024. There were four bidders. Bellmore Home Center, Inc. (DBA: Costello’s Ace Hardware) was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
At the Board meeting held on November 20, 2024, the contract was awarded to Bellmore Home Center, Inc. who was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. However, this decision must now be rescinded as the vendor has informed the COY Purchasing department via email of their inability to fulfill the order.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the District desires to maintain and clean its buildings in the most effective manner, and
WHEREAS the propane stripping machines have proven to be a significant part of this effectiveness, and
WHEREAS via Resolution 11.11 dated November 20, 2024 the Board approved the award of the contract to Bellmore Home Center, Inc. who was the lowest and responsible bidder, but now has to be rescinded as the vendor has informed the COY Purchasing department via email of their inability to fulfill the order, and
WHEREAS in accordance with General Municipal Law, the administration recommends such procurement under this RFQ to Ocean Janitorial Supply, Inc, the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the amount of $19,152.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to award RFQ 2025-00002334, “Procurement of three Karcher 27” Propane Floor Burnishers” to Ocean Janitorial Supply, Inc in the amount of $19,152.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
