Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE)
Term: January, 2018 – August 31, 2018
Amount: $130,548
Scope: Agreement to amend existing contract with YPIE to provide additional consulting services Gorton High School and Palisade Preparatory School during the 2017-18 school year. For Gorton HS, YPIE will work with students to get them prepared for the college process and their options for their futures. For Palisade Prep, YPIE will work with the school administrators and other designated community partners to create a Task Force of 100 students who will work over a 28-week time period to learn/utilize college and career readiness skills in order to solve real-world problems. This is an amendment to the existing master contract # 2018-00000219 for $70,020 which was approved by the Board on 8/16/17 and approved by BOCS on 8/25/17. This amendment represents an increase of $130,548 due an increase of schools being serviced and services being provided. The total contract amount will be $200,568.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend its existing contract with Yonkers Partners in Education to purchase additional consulting services to support college and career readiness preparation at Gorton High School and Palisade Preparatory School during the 2017-2018 school year,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Yonkers Partners in Education, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by Yonkers Partners in Education, and,
WHEREAS the District has evaluated past services from the vendor and has determined that Yonkers Partners in Education has performed in a satisfactory manner, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Yonkers Partners in Education at a cost not to exceed $130,548.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
