Rationale: Scope: Provide professional development for English and Mathematics teachers in addition to Engineering and CyberSecurity Curriculums for the alignment of students in the Pathways in Technology for Early College High Schools (P-Tech) initiative at Riverside High School. Teachers will meet monthly with Westchester Community College staff to align instruction in the classroom with College expectations for receiving 3 college credits.

Professional development opportunity with faculty of Westchester Community College with the English, Mathematics, Architecture /Civil Engineering teachers for alignment and backwards planning for the Pathways in Saunders Trades and Technical High School (P-Tech) students. Faculty from W.C.C. will meet monthly with the teachers and students to provide professional development sessions and reports for the alignment of the curriculums to ensure college credit attainment.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Westchester Community College to purchase consulting services to support the implementation of the Pathways in Technology for Early College High Schools (P-Tech) at Riverside High School and Saunders High School for the 2017-2018 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Westchester Community College a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Community College to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Community College at a cost not to exceed $116,323.00.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
