Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, The Yonkers Kiwanis Club, Yonkers Board of Education Trustees and Mayor Mike Spano jointly sponsored the City's 2018-2019 Yonkers Public Schools Teachers of the Year Awards. Established by the Yonkers Kiwanis Club and the Board of Education in 1954, followed by the Board’s adoption of the Teacher Hall of Fame on July 13, 1978, the award celebrates Yonkers teachers who further excellence in education.
WHEREAS Ana Rosello has been selected as Teacher of the Year 2018 - 2019 and shall be permanently honored in the Teacher Hall of Fame of the Yonkers City School District, and
WHEREAS Mrs. Rosello joined the Yonkers Schools District in 1997 as a bilingual Social Studies teacher at Emerson Middle School, at the school she also taught general education Social Studies and Spanish.
In 2005, she had a split bilingual Social Studies position at the Enrico Fermi School and the Robert C. Dodson School. In 2006 she took her current position as Bilingual Social Studies teacher at the Robert C. Dodson School.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Ana Rosello an outstanding educator and professional, a mentor and friend to students and teachers, be permanently honored as Teacher of the Year 2018 - 2019.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That it is with great pleasure that the Board of Education of the City of Yonkers joins the Kiwanis Club of Yonkers and Mayor Mike Spano in bestowing this honor on a truly dedicated teacher who works both in and out of the classroom to support high quality education for the children of Yonkers:
