Scope: Sarah Lawrence College CURB will provide services to support the IB Biology Hudson River research projects, Spring Field Trip programming for Scholastic Academy and provide hands on Summer STEM programs for 7th and 8th grade students. Students will gain an introduction to STEM learning through authentic research and making sense of data.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River Beczak (CURB) to provide support to the IB Biology Hudson River research projects, Spring field trip programming to Scholastic Academy and allow hands on Summer STEM programs for the 7th and 8th grade students to participate in hands on programs and gain an introduction to STEM learning through research during the May 2018 to August 2018 term,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River Beczak (CURB) a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Sarah Lawrence College CURB to provide these services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River Beczak (CURB) at a cost not to exceed $28,250.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
