JCY-Westchester Community Partners, A division Family Service Society of Yonkers
Term: September 2017 – June 2018
Amount: $71,000
Scope: Agreement with JCY- Westchester Community Partners, A division Family Service Society of Yonkers to amend its existing contract to provide an Intro2America program at Yonkers High School, Lincoln High School and/or Eugenio Maria de Hostos MicroSociety School and an after-school program at Cross Hill Academy during the 2017-18 school year. The objectives for the proposed programs are as follows: to provide support designed to increase communication skills and familiarity with American culture for students newly arrived to this country (Intro2America) and to improve the academic skills of middle school students to close the achievement gap (After-School at CHA). This is an amendment to the existing contract of $100,000 (BOE approved 8/16/17 and BOCS approved 8/24/17) and represents an increase of $71,000 due to an increase of schools and services being provided. The total contract amount will be $171,000.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend its existing contract with JCY-Westchester Community Partners, A division of Family Service Society of Yonkers to purchase consulting services to support programs at Eugenio Maria de Hostos MicroSociety School, Yonkers High School, and/or Lincoln High School and Cross Hill Academy to achieve their proposed programs objectives for the 2017-2018 school year,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with JCY-Westchester Community Partners, A division of Family Service Society of Yonkers, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by JCY-Westchester Community Partners, A division of Family Service Society of Yonkers, and,
WHEREAS the District has evaluated past services from the vendor and has determined that JCY-Westchester Community Partners, A division of Family Service Society of Yonkers has performed in a satisfactory manner, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with JCY-Westchester Community Partners, A division of Family Service Society of Yonkers at a cost not to exceed $71,000.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
