Subject: 16.4 FIRST AMENDMENT TO CAPITAL FUNDED Contract 617161 for Professional Architectural Engineering Services on a Requirements Basis to Sammel Architecture, PLLC in the amount of $500,000.00 increasing the total contract to $1,500,000.00 and extend the term for an additional 2 years.

Rationale: This is to amend one of the five contracts awarded to separate firms Via Board Resolution Item 17.5 dated January 20, 2016. That resolution provided up to $1 million for A/E work over three years, ending January 2019.

This amendment is required to provide funding for fees for work beyond the original funding of $1 million. Principally for the assignment of the Boyce Thompson CIP 10817 and immediate
design work for the 2019 & 2020 construction season. Sammel has performed acceptably.
With the fee for this project, SAMMEL total fee to date is $1,007,167.00. The $1.5 million dollar figure indicated above is an upper limit for expenditure under this agreement and will not be encumbered unless specific tasks are assigned, via Board resolutions.
Funding: CAPITAL BOND FUNDS ON A PROJECT BY PROJECT BASIS.
Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: The District has a need for on-going professional architectural and engineering services for the maintenance and improvement of its physical plant, and

WHEREAS: such services have been duly solicited in compliance with NYS Municipal Law 104B and the City of Yonkers procurement policy through the issuance of the publicly advertised request for proposal RFP313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department”, and

WHEREAS: Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded requirements contract 617109 to Sammel Architecture for an amount not to exceed $1 million and,
WHEREAS: additional tasks beyond the current contract amount and term are required by the District of Sammel Architecture, and
WHEREAS: the total additional fees paid shall not exceed a total of one-half million dollars over the course of 24 months,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of School be authorized to amend Contract 617161 with Sammel Architecture to increase the available limit t $1,500,000.00 and extend the term to December 31, 2020 per RFP313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department”.
