Amount: $6,800.00
Scope: Agreement between the Roosevelt High School Early College Studies program (RHS-ECS) and The College of Westchester (CW) students enrolled at RHS-ECS are afforded the opportunity to earn a minimum of 24 college-level credits in RHS-ECS courses counting towards both their New York State high school graduation requirements and the equivalent credit-bearing courses at CW. In order to ensure that the courses delivered within the RHS-ECS curriculum and taught by RHS-ECS faculty are properly aligned with the equivalent CW courses in terms of learning outcomes and required competencies, and that College courses offered at CW’s campus to RHS-ECS students advance their knowledge toward their chosen career goals, a team of CW faculty and curriculum designers will facilitate a series of four professional development workshops for RHS-ECS faculty at RHS. The courses will be focused towards applied computer science most closely aligned with RHS-ECS’s current areas of study in Graphic Design and Media Communications.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with College of Westchester to purchase consulting services to support the Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies learning community by providing a series of four professional development workshops focused towards applied computer science most closely aligned with RHS-ECS’s current areas of study in Graphic Design and Media Communications for the 2018-2019 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with College of Westchester a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with College of Westchester to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with College of Westchester at a cost not to exceed $6,800.00.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
