Rationale:
|
As mandated in the Fire Code of New York State No. 906.2 General Requirements, Fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. Additional requirements by the New York State Education Department Commissioner Regulations Part 155.8 - Fire and Building Safety Inspections: All fire extinguishers operated by a public school district or board of cooperative education services shall be inspected for number, quality, tested and certified at least once annually, or at any other time deemed necessary by the Commissioner. Procurement via NYSOGS PT63104, Award 20191, Group 77201 expiration August 26, 2020.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: the District is required to maintain operational fire extinguishers and to have them inspected annually, and WHEREAS: such service is available for procurement from Simplex Grinnell, LP under New York State Office of General Services Contract No. PT63014 the 2019-20 school year, and WHEREAS: in accordance with General Municipal Law, the administration recommends such procurement under this contract to Simplex Grinnell, LP, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the award for the Service, Inspection and Supply of Fire Extinguishers be made to Simplex Grinnell, LP., 12 Jeanne Drive, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550 under NYSOGS Contract PT63104 in an amount not to exceed $30,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
