Scope: Lakeshore Learning Materials is a provider of innovative educational materials that spark young imaginations, instill a sense of wonder and foster a lifelong love of learning. The purchase(s) of materials, resources and equipment from Lakeshore Learning Materials will support the establishment of de-escalation environments for students to redirect their emotions in the Schools in Accountability during the 2017-18 school year.

Please note: The amount listed on this resolution exceeds the amount of the attached sales quote. This is due to anticipated future orders from this vendor during the remainder of this school year for the Schools in Accountability. The purchase order(s) will be per NYS OGS Contracts PC67562, PC66452, and PC67161.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to purchase materials and resources from Lakeshore Learning Materials to support the establishment of de-escalation environments in the Schools in Accountability for the 2017-2018 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Lakeshore Learning Materials, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the District has determined that these materials/resources can best be provided by Lakeshore Learning Materials, and,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Lakeshore Learning Materials at a cost not to exceed $15,000.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
